The last few weeks have really just been taking some good (or bad, if you have the same opinion as my doctors) advice from Mr. Rodney Adkins and I’ve just kept on going and not looked back. Up until Tuesday… I didn’t have time to anyways. Every second that wasn’t devoted to doctors appointments, medications, testing and other “Ms. Mango’s busted body business” was carefully planned out and made strategic use of because April is a HELL-OF-A busy month this year.
The perforation (caused by an ulcer) in my lower intestines ended up getting infected (apparently quite a common occurrence for those of us who forgo hospital care during healing) but a massive course of antibiotics seems to have again done the trick and in general my ‘unknown’ bleeding is down to a minimum and only from one end. Of course any sort of illness be it infection or simple cold is going to trigger my lupus into high alert… so if it’s not one thing, it’s going to be the other.
I’m not sure how long I can keep on keeping on, but right now I’m too exhausted to question my methods of survival, my brain is taking a break from doing the thinking thing when I can help it, which is probably why I’ve been such a crappy blog host (is that the right term?).
Today is the first day in a while where the sun is shining and the air is not filled with a chilled North wind. I’m going to be slathering myself in sunscreen (something I have to get back into the routine of… we don’t need ANOTHER thing to trigger flares now do we) and laying out on my deck to get warm and toasty, even if it has to be under a few dark blankets to incubate.
If I’m lucky I might just get ‘outta this funk before’ the Devil even knows my name…
